Do you struggle commanding your pitches?

Here are a few tips that will help you throw more strikes.

Tip #1: Relax: Some pitchers tend to “tense up” in crucial situations on the mound. Learn to take a deep breathe before every pitch; every pitch counts regardless of the situation. Remember to hold the ball like an egg and make sure your shoulders are relaxed throughout your delivery.

Tip #2: Direction: Learn all you can about pitching mechanics. If you do, you will know that all of your momentum has to go straight toward home plate. Anytime your momentum goes away from the direction you are throwing, your accuracy and velocity can decrease.

Tip #3: Rhythm? Get into a groove. Don’t rush your delivery. Your delivery should be the same regardless of what pitch you throw. Your leg lift is the same; your stride is the same every time. Don’t let a batter frustrate your timing or rhythm of your delivery. In regards to that, Don’t let any game situation alter your flow (mojo). 🙂
