Tip For Training By Yourself
This past Halloween I just bought the Maserati of bicycles. I really enjoy bicycling and got a killer deal, so it was a no-brainer for me to purchase my bike. Because I’m competitive and I like stats, I had to create some loops near my house and record my times. It keeps me focused when I’m out by myself. It’s a way to keep improving on my times.
You can use this concept with your training this fall. One tip I gave an athlete I was pitching with the other day was to set up a net with a strike zone and hold competitions with himself. Since working on location is so important for pitches, why not record a point if you hit your spot. Split the games into 10 pitches each. See if you can improve each time. Work fastballs in and out, curveballs, change-ups, etc.
Competition has a way of increasing your focus when you train, especially by yourself where it is easy to take short cuts.
Get ahead of your competition this year and get our new Baseball DVD series. The series includes a pitching workout section. You will also learn how to throw 10 baseball pitches.
